Music Production

Looking for a creative partner to help write arrange and develop your songs? My years of recording and live performance with a variety of singers and bands comes into play when I produce. I can help you achieve the vision you have for your music.

How it Works

The first step is to contact me. Please use the subject title “Music Production”. Tell me a little about yourself and the kind of music you make and the direction you would like to pursue, and what your specifically looking for. After I know the scope of your project I’ll give you a quote.

Producing is all about relationships , so I recommend that we meet in-person or have a facetime or skype session to discuss the project in detail and determine if we are a good fit for each other.

Production Method

My method changes depending on who and what I am producing. Common scenarios are:

  1. I’ll receive a vocal demo (melody and lyrics). I’ll write the chords, do the backing arrangment, play and program all the parts, record and mix it.
  2. I’ll provide a track to a songwriter who’ll then write the words and melody.
  3. I’ll provide a music track with top line melody except for words.
  4. I’ll schedule writing sessions with an artist/songwriter and come up with songs before moving into the recording/production phase.

F.A.Q

Q: What genre of music do you produce?
A: I teach and and do session work in a multitude of styles. However as a producer I enjoy working with singer/songwriters in Rock, Pop, R&B, Folk and World music.

Q: I am a Dance artist can you make a beat for me?
A: Yes I can make a beat for you but its not my passion. Better to find a producer that lives and breathes Dance.

Q: What do you look for in an artist?
A: An open mind, great work ethic and willingness to experiment.

Q: I’m not a trained singer, can you tune my vocals?
A: You don’t have to be a Michael Jackson but I will insist that you practice or take vocal lessons. The odd note here and there is not a issue but if your consistently off pitch, you’ll have to work on your singing. I can recommend a vocal instructor to help train you.
